Nearly 60% of licensed behavioral and mental health providers in Virginia are open to serving as a tele-supervisor / tele-mentor for pre-licensed individuals offering uncompensated care to populations that are underserved, according to a survey conducted by the Virginia Telehealth Network. Throughout the development of VTMHI, this sentiment was echoed by so many professionals, all interested in supporting this program in different ways. As VTMHI expands to reach more patients through Virginia’s participating free and charitable clinics, we’re calling on those licensed mental health providers across the Commonwealth to help us build supports for both Virginians in need AND Virginia’s next generation of LPCs, LSWs, LCSWs, LMHCs, LMFTs, and beyond.
VTMHI volunteer opportunities for licensed mental health providers may include serving as:
- A virtual supervisor for pre-licensed mental health providers who are in process of completing licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPC
- A therapist to free and charitable clinic patients via telehealth
- An advisor on program design and development
- A subject matter expert providing didactic training
Additional opportunities will be available as the VTMHI service line grows to include additional clinics, referral sources, and clinical services. At this time, VTMHI services are limited to virtual therapy.
