Lorener Brayboy
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Pronouns: She/Her
Languages: Spanish
I am an American Indian, born and raised in Virginia, and member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. I am fluent in Spanish.
My ability to help and connect with others is what inspired me to be a mental health professional. Working with diverse populations and learning about different cultures brings me joy. I work to provide my patients with a safe and supportive space to express themselves, gain insight, and manage difficulties they are facing.
I joined VTMHI because I believe in their public health approach and community-led mission of increasing access to care, particularly in rural and underserved areas. I believe that access to mental health care is necessary to obtain health equity, decrease stigma related to behavioral health services, and essential for overall well-being.
Licensed Clinical Social Workers support mental and emotional health by helping people develop strategies and solutions to life’s challenges.
