LPC-R

Ms. Karen Keys is a resident counselor who lives in Northern Virginia. In 2022, Ms. Keys graduated from Liberty University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Karen served eight years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force and continues to support the military/veterans through her community work in Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority, Inc.

Karen supports an integrative approach to therapy – which involves incorporating CBT and Mindfulness with the client’s spirituality or religion within the treatment approach. Her Christian faith and ethics allow her to view clients as autonomous individuals who deserve the right to choose their own mental health wellness goals without imposing her beliefs on them and without judgment. She increases her worldview through immersing herself in other cultures through travel and involvement in multicultural events. Ms. Keys views every meeting as an opportunity to gain experience more about the uniqueness and value of the individual. She enjoys family and friends, singing, reading, theater, historical shows, documentaries, bicycling, and research.
