My decision to become a mental health provider is rooted in the desire to help others overcome challenges, improve their well-being, and navigate life’s complexities. I was drawn to the field because of personal experiences and witnessing others go through life’s challenges.
My favorite part of being a mental health provider is witnessing growth and positive change in the patients I work with. It’s rewarding to help someone gain new insights, overcome obstacles, or just feel heard and understood in a way that makes a difference in their life.
There is a significant need for accessible mental health services, especially for individuals who might not otherwise have access to care due to financial or logistical barriers. VTMHI provides access to work with those in need.
Residents in Counseling support mental and emotional health by helping people develop strategies and solutions to life’s challenges – they have completed their education and practice under supervision until fully licensed.
