Emily has a Masters in Social Work degree from East Tennessee State University. She has two years of experience as a clinical social worker in an inpatient setting with those experiencing mental health crises. Working from a strengths-based perspective, Emily believes everyone has the capacity for reflection and growth. She views her role as a therapist is to facilitate a journey of self-exploration and to foster hope, healing and resilience.
Emily integrates her person-entered approach with elements of diverse treatment modalities; including mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Prior to becoming a mental health professional, Emily worked in the environmental field. She believes that getting outside and strengthening our connection to the natural world can offer many gifts.
