Constance (Connie) Richards

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Pronouns: She/Her

Entering the field of social work was not my first career, but it has been the most rewarding. I especially enjoy working with others on the journey to better mental health. I firmly believe that making changes is something we do better with each other. Talking through concerns and challenging patients to try different things defines my approach to the therapeutic relationship from a cognitive behavioral perspective. I combine this with my humanistic beliefs, ensuring the focus is patient-centered. This approach provides patients with the opportunity to share, change, and grow in a safe, judgement-free, and accepting space.

Although I have retired from full-time practice, volunteering with VTMHI is a gift that allows me to continue working with others.

Supervisees in Social Work support mental and emotional health by helping people develop strategies and solutions to life’s challenges – they have completed their education and practice under supervision until fully licensed.
