Angela P. Callahan

Clinical Supervisor

Pronouns: She/He
Top areas of clinical experience: depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, gender and sexual minorities, and trauma-informed care

My supervisory approach is one of empowerment – to help Residents build not only their clinical skills, but their own confidence in how they approach this lifesaving and affirming work. I’m there to challenge and support Residents at every milestone of their journey, and to make sure they have the educational and relational skills necessary for independent licensure.

While I currently work in private practice, my previous experience in therapeutic foster care case management, nonprofit, and free clinic outpatient services shapes my work with clients and supervisees. I have a firm belief that Self-Care is “HELP” care – care for the helpers!

I became involved with VTMHI because their mission aligns with my beliefs about reducing barriers for those who struggle with everyday needs and increasing knowledge, power, and awareness of mental health in rural communities.

Licensed Professional Counselors support mental and emotional health by helping people develop strategies and solutions to life’s challenges.
